Nancy Parker is a dedicated member of the Montessori Canada Board and Principal of Parker Fundraising Strategies, with over 30 years of experience in the non-profit and charitable sector. Nancy spent 20 years in post-secondary fundraising and marketing before launching her consulting business, where she specializes in helping organizations grow through coaching, strategic planning, governance, and development. Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including capital campaign administration, grant writing, and annual, major, and planned giving. As a workshop presenter and contributor to Canada’s only prospect research textbook for fundraising, Nancy is a recognized expert in her field, as well as an educator, having taught business courses at the post-secondary level.

Nancy’s journey into Montessori education began in 2017 when she consulted for a local Montessori school. She was immediately captivated by the environment, the pedagogical approach, and the passionate Montessori community. From that point, Nancy became a strong advocate for Montessori education and its transformative impact on children. One of the key principles that resonate most with her is the Montessori value of grace and courtesy, which she believes is essential in fostering a respectful, empathetic learning community. Nancy takes pride in using her skills to support organizations in becoming stronger so they can better serve their communities, and she is deeply inspired by the positive changes this creates.

Outside of her professional life, Nancy is an avid gardener, cook, and baker, finding joy and fulfillment in these hands-on, creative activities. For Nancy, the act of nurturing both plants and people brings balance and fulfillment to her work in the non-profit and educational sectors. Her commitment to community-building extends beyond her professional roles, making her an invaluable asset to both Montessori Canada and the broader community she serves.
